About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Agilent's Enterprise Software PMO within the Productivity Solutions Division
  • Drive portfolio governance, investment prioritization, resource planning, and execution of strategic software transformation initiatives
  • Manage the PSD Portfolio and Project Management Center of Excellence team
  • Support the Productivity Solutions Division and develop team structure for the newly formed division
  • Oversee execution of Lifecycle and Business projects within the portfolio
  • Lead Project Portfolio Management processes, including roadmaps, prioritization, and resource planning
  • Partner with PSD and ACG functional leadership to assign and support Project Managers and Project Leaders
  • Facilitate monthly PSD Staff meetings
  • Support the annual strategic planning process and other critical business initiatives
  • Report to the Associate Vice President of ACG Strategy & Business Operations CoE
  • Manage performance, development, and work assignments of portfolio and project managers
  • Develop Project Managers for future roles within Agilent
  • Facilitate Staff discussions on investment, resourcing, and prioritization decisions
  • Provide counsel on productivity project progress and overall portfolio management status
  • Engage stakeholders in project manager assignments, prioritization, and execution
  • Ensure projects meet agreed requirements for scope, time, cost, and quality using Agilent procedures and best practices
  • Communicate problems, issues, risks, and solutions
  • Coach, mentor, manage, educate, and develop program and project managers and teams
  • Collaborate with functional managers on project delivery processes, reporting, resource allocation, and planning
  • Oversee detailed project plans, work and cost estimates, critical path assessments, budgets, schedules, goals, and risks
  • Align Project Portfolio Management best practices and processes across ACG PMCoE organizations
  • Support organizational growth, development, and strategic planning at ACG and PSD levels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years' experience in project/program/portfolio management leading large-scale, complex projects or portfolios with multiple stakeholder groups
  • 5+ years' experience formally or informally leading people
  • Experience leading a program management office for a large (Fortune 500) multinational company
  • Experience with people management, including development and mentoring
  • Experience with complex matrixed organizations and facilitation to address competing priorities and diverse opinions
  • Significant experience with PLM methodologies (PMP, Agile, Scrum, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with software development projects and processes
  • Must have Agile experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field
  • Master's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred
  • Six Sigma, Agile or Scrum Master certification preferred
  • Experience in analytical life sciences, laboratory, software, SaaS, or informatics industries preferred
  • Willingness to match working hours to the needs of PSD Division Staff
  • Travel required: 25% of the time
