About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead product strategy and development for Digit’s perception and learned capabilities
- Own the perception and world understanding capabilities roadmap
- Translate customer workflows and application requirements into requirements for perception, scene understanding, object understanding, learned behaviors, adaptation, motion planning, and AI-enabled robot capabilities
- Define product-level metrics and evaluation criteria, including accuracy, robustness, generalization, latency, failure behavior, and operational performance
- Drive capabilities from research or prototype stages through validation, productization, and production deployment
- Translate product capability needs into requirements for models, datasets, training systems, tooling, and infrastructure
- Identify when capabilities should evolve from task-specific implementations to reusable models and behaviors
- Partner with robotics, perception, machine learning, autonomy, simulation, systems engineering, and field teams
- Establish representative evaluation environments, test scenarios, datasets, and benchmarks
- Coordinate roadmap dependencies across task skills, robot software, hardware, simulation, infrastructure, customer applications, and deployment systems
- Shape Agility’s long-term robot intelligence strategy
- Communicate product priorities, technical trade-offs, capability maturity, and roadmap decisions to engineering leaders, executives, commercial teams, and stakeholders
