About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the business
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial entries, reconciliations, tax filings, vendor payments, and reporting
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly financial entries, reporting, and reconciliations
  • File sales taxes (GST/HST, PST, QST) and make necessary payments
  • Monitor inter-provincial balances
  • Assist in preparing year-end tax forms and filings such as T4A
  • Assist in preparing agent-requested forms
  • Generate reports from Back Office
  • Download expected invoices from various vendor systems
  • Input invoices into Back Office
  • Monitor vendor accounts
  • Follow up with uncleared vendor payments
  • Answer agents’ questions regarding their expenses
  • Assist in implementing internal controls and process improvements/documentation
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Team Lead and AR/AP team
  • Support year-end reporting and compliance requirements, maintaining financial controls, and implementing special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Accounting diploma or equivalent required
  • Working towards a CPA designation an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a related role
  • Comfortable in a remote environment working with various communication technologies
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly organized and familiar with working in a remote environment
