About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and own a portfolio of AHEAD's complex, highest-risk, and highest-visibility client engagements
Plan, execute, lead project teams, and finalize projects according to client timelines and budget constraints
Serve as the single point of knowledge and control for the aggregate project effort
Drive client relationships, including executive-level relationships
Maintain ongoing client communication and proactively address concerns and unmet expectations
Establish and document client definitions of success and alignment throughout project stages
Articulate business outcomes and anchor client conversations in outcomes rather than status
Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and early warning signs
Coordinate delivery across AHEAD project managers, practices, Managed Services teams, clients, and vendors
Define and execute project plans, scopes, schedules, budgets, deliverables, resources, and roles
Maintain accurate portfolio data, including RYG status, RAID logs, resource assignments, project stage, and revenue status
Review margin, utilization, forecasts, and portfolio status; act to improve business outcomes
Manage project activities to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and at required quality standards
Coach and mentor project managers and project team members
Develop and route project change orders for approval
Partner with Sales and Presales on statements of work, opportunity assessments, pursuits, and client presentations
Conduct project closeout, including client acceptance, handoff documentation, financial updates, lessons learned, and archiving
Apply AHEAD project-management standards, governance, templates, and quality practices
Lead project meetings, decision-making forums, and executive readouts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
5 years of project management experience in client-facing, professional services, or technology delivery
PMP, Prince2, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master certification preferred
Experience in IT services, consulting, or technology delivery environments strongly preferred
Experience with the specific technologies and solutions delivered against within assigned engagements preferred
Ability to articulate business outcomes and success indicators
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Client-service mindset and professional presence
Ability to learn new tools, processes, and technical concepts quickly
Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple concurrent projects
Strong financial and operational discipline, including project budgets, margin, and resource assignments
Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project-delivery approaches
Ability to facilitate meetings, document decisions and action items, follow through, and influence without formal authority
Problem-solving skills involving risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, Clients, and vendors/subcontractors
Technical familiarity with, or ability to quickly acquire familiarity with, delivered solutions and technologies
