About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather, clarify, and document reporting and analytics requirements with business stakeholders
- Research and document KPI definitions, formulas, business owners, and source systems for KPI certification
- Maintain the business glossary and KPI dictionary
- Research and profile source data across Deltek Vantagepoint, SQL views, and Power BI semantic models
- Test and validate data warehouse structures and reports against agreed business definitions
- Identify data quality, stale logic, governance, and undocumented-assumption issues and escalate them
- Create and maintain user stories in Azure DevOps
- Support the BI team’s two-week sprint cadence and intake process
- Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders
- Author and maintain release notes and change-management documentation
- Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline
- 4+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or reporting analyst role
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear, testable requirements
- Working knowledge of SQL sufficient to independently query and investigate source data across multiple systems
- Familiarity with Power BI reports and semantic models
- Experience with Azure DevOps or a similar backlog/work-tracking tool
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with business and technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with detailed validation work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple concurrent requests
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology and adapting to evolving requirements
- Up to 5% travel, potentially to any or all 50 US states
- Experience supporting an enterprise data warehouse, BI platform, or reporting modernization effort strongly preferred
- Experience reading or writing DAX is a plus
- Prior experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar professional services ERP systems is a plus
