About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members within assigned healthcare facilities
  • Guide members in accessing appropriate healthcare services and providers
  • Explain healthcare benefits, limitations, exclusions, requirements, and available options
  • Support members throughout admission, confinement, treatment, and discharge processes
  • Facilitate referrals, approvals, authorizations, claims, and care coordination
  • Verify member eligibility and benefit coverage
  • Facilitate implementation of utilization management policies and medically necessary, evidence-based care
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding covered services and escalate complex medical necessity concerns
  • Deliver compassionate and professional member support and manage complaints and service recovery
  • Develop relationships with hospital personnel and physicians and participate in provider engagement activities
  • Maintain documentation, comply with privacy requirements, meet SLAs, report and escalate critical issues, and participate in quality improvement
  • Promote MediCard’s brand promise, educate members about services, and support brand awareness initiatives
