About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide leadership at production facilities within the assigned area
- Support Plant Managers in achieving area and regional performance goals
- Cultivate training, development, and team motivation aligned with company policies
- Support and coordinate multiple Plant Managers
- Analyze KPIs, labor plans, overtime, fulfillment, and other data to identify trends and adjust fulfillment and cost strategies
- Collaborate with production facilities to improve efficient, cost-effective operations and customer experience
- Maintain communication with the VP of Operations regarding progress, challenges, opportunities, and improvements
- Foster communication within the area and explain the rationale behind initiatives
- Conduct regular facility visits for performance, safety, compliance, and training improvements
- Partner with safety leadership to promote safety policies and procedures
- Guide the Airgas Incident Review Committee and support safety improvement plans
- Coordinate with the Cylinder Asset Manager and Plant Managers to maintain cylinder supply
- Coordinate equipment bidding and project management, vendor compliance, and capital expenditure budget development
- Develop, implement, and revise standard operational practices (SOPs)
- Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, DHS, state regulations, and Airgas policies
- Guide plant efficiency audits, Industrial Gas Manual audits, 5S programs, and continuous improvement projects
- Foster communication throughout the district emphasizing safety and environmental objectives
- Promote teamwork and an employee-focused environment to support retention
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years management experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Valid employment authorization in the U.S.; must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Agility and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving market and business landscape
- Strong critical thinking skills for inventory, fulfillment, supply chain, and distribution analysis
- In-depth knowledge of industry, business, and accounting concepts, including ROI, P&L statements, balance sheets, and margin responsibilities
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Strong project management abilities
- Ability to deliver clear oral and written presentations to all levels of management
- Availability to travel 60 percent of the time, occasionally overnight
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (preferred)
- Experience in the packaged gas industry (preferred)
- Experience in capital project management (preferred)
- Prior SAP and Power BI experience (preferred)
- Prior forklift experience (preferred)
- Experience in DOT qualifications, accident reporting, safety, and compliance (preferred)
