About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide proactive account management and churn prevention for key strategic partnerships
  • Handle customer interactions and orchestrate daily operational requirements to support the local salesforce
  • Act as the primary cross-functional liaison to drive cost savings, efficiency, and seamless customer experiences
  • Identify dissatisfied, disengaged, or at-risk accounts and coordinate corrective actions
  • Execute account-retention strategies with Sales and Operations
  • Conduct outbound customer contacts focused on account health, unresolved concerns, and high-margin product opportunities
  • Document customer concerns and follow through until resolution
  • Improve Customer Effort Score (CES) by identifying recurring pain points and eliminating friction
  • Analyze purchasing habits and account activity to identify profitability and operational-efficiency improvements
  • Conduct account reviews to resolve pricing discrepancies, delivery issues, and account-data inaccuracies
  • Track retention results, saves, recurring service issues, and CES trends
  • Identify Voice of the Customer feedback trends and communicate systemic issues to Sales, Operations, and leadership
  • Coordinate with production, distribution, and sales teams on new customer requirements
  • Champion a safety-first culture and act as a Brand Ambassador using the 3C’s
  • Use Airgas.com and multichannel touchpoints to streamline order cycles and expand account engagement
  • Support the outside sales force in servicing and obtaining new business
  • Assist sales managers in planning to meet departmental sales goals
  • Update the sales force on market and sales opportunities
  • Maintain current industry product knowledge
  • Visit various Airgas and customer sites

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Class D driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace with pre-employment and random drug testing
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 to 5+ years of progressive experience in Customer Experience (CX), Voice of Customer (VoC) strategy, strategic account management, or customer service within industrial gases, welding supplies, or B2B industrial environments
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP platforms (e.g., SAP), CRM systems, and enterprise data analytics software
  • Experience analyzing pricing structures, margins, and account profitability
  • Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides
  • Fundamental mathematical and financial skills for calculating discounts, percentages, and margins
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and ability to understand metrics and present them to management
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to read, speak, write, spell, and understand English
  • Travel expectations of 20% within the region
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., CCXP) preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred
