About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Empower, mentor, and support sales teams in safety standards and performance milestones
  • Manage P&L for assigned branches and territory
  • Cultivate customer service and product knowledge
  • Advocate for safety through meetings and protocol alignment
  • Implement regional and area strategic plans to optimize profit margins and operating expenses
  • Enhance staff selling skills and product expertise through continuous learning
  • Provide professional growth guidance and support company policies
  • Partner with the Branch Manager on hiring, training, and employee management
  • Prepare sales data and forecasts for outside sales representatives and leadership
  • Coordinate paperwork, inventory, pricing, and profitability
  • Facilitate personnel matters and ensure facility upkeep

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Ideally 5+ years in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated history of advancing sustainable sales success and profitable growth
  • Increasing responsibility in a business-to-business sales-related or sales operations position
  • Experience mentoring a team and stewarding a P&L, or comparable distribution-industry experience involving gases and welding supplies
  • At least 5 years supporting and mentoring teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft solutions, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience in data entry and order extraction
  • Numerical proficiency for business applications and analytical reporting
  • Knowledge of business and accounting concepts, including ROI, P&L statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, and margins
  • Ability to lift 25–75 lbs. as needed
  • Valid driver's license and insured personal vehicle
  • Ability to work in a drug-free environment
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to customer and management needs
  • Preferred: Industrial Gas and/or welding experience
  • Preferred: SAP experience
