About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expert US GAAP oversight on regional submissions for the monthly reporting process
- Assess accounting implications of new product launches, including gross versus net revenue, embedded derivatives, and cost of sales versus OPEX classification
- Own resolution of technical accounting issues and judgmental estimates
- Lead expansion and evolution of the global US GAAP reporting framework
- Author and maintain the Global Accounting Policy Manual
- Architect and oversee ICFR for technical accounting areas
- Ensure complex accounting judgments have robust, SOX-compliant documentation and precise reviewer controls
- Lead preparation and defense of technical memos meeting PCAOB auditing standards
- Mature the Controllership function through workflow automation, AI technology, and implementation of new accounting standards
- Provide technical guidance and training to regional finance teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of professional experience in technical finance roles
- Deep expertise in US GAAP standards and ability to apply them to complex business transactions
- Strong working knowledge of PCAOB Auditing Standards and SOX requirements
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and thrive in a hyper-growth environment
- Active CPA license or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)
- Prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm (preferred)
- Direct experience with the pre-IPO process and scaling finance functions for public market readiness (preferred)
- Strong thought leadership skills and history of driving innovative solutions and influencing organizational change (preferred)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to meet hybrid work requirement with in-office attendance in San Francisco 3 days per week
