About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as lead counsel and trusted business partner for Airwallex’s Yield product
- Provide legal, regulatory, and strategic advice across the full product lifecycle
- Advise on product design, licensing, regulatory engagement, partner arrangements, customer terms, disclosures, launch execution, and product integration
- Support new product ideas and enhancements from ideation through launch and expansion
- Coordinate with local counsel across Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the U.S., the U.K., and the European Union
- Translate legal and regulatory advice into product requirements, customer terms, disclosures, and launch-readiness materials
- Develop legal frameworks, playbooks, and processes for repeatable product launches
- Collaborate with Regulatory Compliance, Product Marketing, Licensing, Risk, and regulated partners including banks, broker-dealers, custodians, and investment managers
- Support product governance, partner arrangements, and ongoing product changes
- Coordinate advice across multiple jurisdictions and help enable responsible product growth
Requirements
What you’ll need- JD (or equivalent law degree)
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience
- At least some experience gained at a top-tier law firm
- Experience advising on investment products, discretionary or non-discretionary management, broker-dealer arrangements, custodial relationships, investment-management structures, or related customer disclosures and documentation
- Strong regulatory advisory and/or product counseling experience with a reputable law firm, financial institution, or fintech
- At least three years advising on wealth-management products
- Proven experience as a solution-oriented lawyer working strategically with non-lawyers to support commercial outcomes
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with Product, Compliance, Risk, Operations, Marketing, external counsel, and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to manage complex, cross-jurisdictional legal workstreams, prioritize competing demands, and take ownership from product ideation through launch and expansion
- Ability to work hybrid with in-office attendance in NYC or San Francisco 3 days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays)
