Drive technical strategy and architecture for critical Growth Engineering platforms
Influence engineering decisions across multiple teams
Lead complex initiatives from design through production
Build scalable backend infrastructure, including high-performance APIs, distributed services, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing systems
Develop AI-native platform capabilities using customer signals, product usage, lifecycle events, and business context
Create personalized experiences, next-best actions, and automated workflows
Design for performance, fault tolerance, observability, security, and operational excellence
Translate ambiguous business challenges into technical solutions
Partner with Product, Data Science, Marketing, Sales, and engineering teams
Deliver measurable business outcomes
Provide architectural leadership and technical mentorship
Conduct thoughtful design reviews and contribute hands-on to complex engineering problems

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Substantial backend development experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Proficiency in Python, Java, Kotlin, or a comparable backend language
Solid computer science fundamentals
Object-oriented design skills
Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Spring Boot
Expertise in distributed systems and backend architecture
Knowledge of domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, scalability, reliability, and modern engineering practices
Proven Staff-level technical leadership
Experience driving complex, cross-team engineering initiatives
Experience shaping architectural decisions
Experience mentoring other engineers
Strong ownership and execution skills
Ability to navigate ambiguity, make pragmatic technical tradeoffs, and deliver solutions from design through production operations
Ability to collaborate across distributed teams and time zones
