About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain backend services and APIs for accounts, balances, transfers and payments
Deliver well-scoped tasks from implementation to production, with unit and integration tests
Follow money-handling rules including exact amounts, idempotent requests, clear transaction states and audit trails
Help with integrations with banks and payment partners
Support daily batch and reconciliation jobs
Participate in code reviews and exchange feedback
Investigate bugs and production issues with senior engineers and fix them with regression tests
Write technical notes and documentation
Ask questions early, raise risks and communicate progress to the team, Product and Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
2+ years of professional backend engineering, including working on services in production
Solid in Java, Go or another modern backend language
Good understanding of REST APIs, relational databases and SQL, and basic concurrency
Working knowledge of transactions
Exposure to caching (Redis) and messaging (Kafka)
Comfortable with Git, Docker and CI/CD
Exposure to a cloud platform (GCP or AWS)
Experience in banking, payments, e-wallets or another regulated environment is a plus but not required
Careful, curious and eager to learn, with clear communication
