About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs for Growth, Onboarding, or Shared Experience
- Own features from technical design through production, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call follow-up
- Integrate with external partners such as KYC providers, banks, and market data providers
- Write clean, well-tested code and conduct code and design reviews
- Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability of team-owned services
- Mentor mid-level engineers and share knowledge within the team
- Collaborate with Product, Ops, Business, and Architecture to translate requirements into reliable solutions and raise trade-offs early
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Track record of owning production services at scale
- Strong in Java or Go
- Solid understanding of microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven design, reliability, and observability practices
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including query tuning
- Experience with Redis caching and Kafka messaging
- Experience running services on GCP or AWS cloud platforms
- Experience with CI/CD and containers
- Ownership mindset and clear communication
- Experience in fintech or another regulated, high-traffic environment is a strong plus
