About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs for stock trading and portfolio features
Deliver features from technical design to production, with tests, monitoring and alerting
Ensure financial processes, quantities and prices are handled accurately, with safe retries and clear audit trails
Integrate with internal systems and external parties such as exchanges, clearing services and banks
Write clean, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews
Investigate production issues, identify root causes and help ship lasting fixes
Improve performance and reliability, especially around market open and peak trading volume
Work with Product, Operations and Compliance to turn requirements into reliable solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
4+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including running services in production
Strong in Java, Go or another modern backend language
Good understanding of microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven design and reliability basics
Hands-on experience with relational databases, including query tuning
Experience with Redis caching and Kafka messaging
Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, containers and CI/CD
Experience in capital markets, brokerage, payments or another regulated, high-traffic environment is a strong plus
