About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define Android architecture and long-term technical direction for features spanning several teams
- Lead design of shared components, libraries and modular app structures
- Review critical designs and provide architectural guidance for high-impact mobile initiatives
- Set standards for app performance, stability, security, accessibility and testing
- Drive improvements to build speed, CI/CD, release processes and crash-free rate
- Lead investigations of complex production issues and drive lasting fixes
- Partner with Engineering Managers, backend leads, Design and Product on cross-team delivery
- Mentor Senior Engineers and grow Android expertise across the organization
- Implement critical and complex parts of the app hands-on
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of professional mobile engineering experience
- Proven record of leading architecture for large consumer Android apps
- Expert in Kotlin and the Android SDK
- Deep experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines/Flow, dependency injection and modular architecture
- Strong knowledge of clean architecture, testing strategy, performance profiling, app size and startup optimization
- Experience with secure storage, authentication, API design with backend teams and protecting sensitive user data
- Experience with CI/CD, staged rollouts, feature flags and managing release health at scale
- Background in fintech or another high-scale, regulated consumer product
- Strong communication and ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority
