About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define the iOS architecture and long-term technical direction for features spanning several teams
- Lead the design of shared components, frameworks, and modular app structures for reuse
- Review critical designs and provide architectural guidance for high-impact mobile initiatives
- Set standards for app performance, stability, security, accessibility, and testing
- Improve build speed, CI/CD, release processes, and crash-free rate
- Lead investigations of complex production issues and drive lasting fixes
- Partner with Engineering Managers, backend leads, Design, and Product on cross-team delivery
- Mentor Senior Engineers and grow iOS expertise across the organization
- Implement critical and complex parts of the app hands-on
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of professional mobile engineering experience
- Proven record of leading architecture for large consumer iOS apps
- Expert in Swift and Apple frameworks
- Deep experience with SwiftUI and UIKit
- Experience with Combine or async/await
- Experience with modular architecture using Swift Package Manager
- Strong knowledge of clean architecture and testing strategy
- Experience with performance profiling using Instruments
- Experience with app size and launch-time optimization
- Experience with Keychain and authentication
- Experience designing APIs with backend teams
- Experience protecting sensitive user data
- Experience with CI/CD, TestFlight, phased releases, feature flags, and managing release health at scale
- Background in fintech or another high-scale, regulated consumer product
- Strong communication and ability to influence technical decisions without direct authority
