About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace concerns, policies, performance expectations, and day-to-day employee relations matters
  • Support onboarding and new hire orientation and manage HR information systems data for accuracy and compliance
  • Partner with leaders on performance management, coaching, corrective action, attendance, employee conduct, and documentation
  • Identify employee relations trends and recurring issues and elevate concerns or recommendations to HR leadership
  • Manage recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume review, interview coordination, candidate communication, offers, and pre-employment processes
  • Expand and maintain recruiting sources, partnerships, and talent pipelines for a seasonal and maritime workforce
  • Provide onsite assistance during critical seasonal training and mobilization periods
  • Coordinate and support the annual performance review process, including timelines, manager communication, completion tracking, and documentation
  • Partner with leaders to identify employee development, training, succession, and retention needs and support development plans
  • Assist with development, review, implementation, and communication of HR policies, procedures, forms, and standard operating practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible HR experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with demonstrated experience independently handling generalist-level responsibilities
  • MS Office knowledge
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Knowledge of tourism industry preferred
  • Must reside within Alaska
  • Availability for one week of training in Sitka
  • Availability to work 8-5, Monday through Friday
