About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Professionally answer inbound calls on behalf of clients using custom greetings and scripts
- Gather caller details and document relevant notes clearly and completely
- Follow account-specific protocols, including dispatching technicians, escalating emergencies, scheduling appointments, or taking messages
- Maintain efficient ring times, hold times, and talk times while ensuring call quality and accuracy
- Handle after-hours and weekend calls, including emergency dispatching when required
- Enter information into message pages or service tickets
- Keep clients and internal teams informed of issues
- Treat every caller with respect, patience, and professionalism
- Collaborate with supervisors and peers to refine scripts and improve workflows
- Participate in quality assurance and coaching sessions
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1+ year in a call center, receptionist role, or customer-facing position
- Answering service experience is a plus
- Clear, professional phone etiquette
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and written skills
- Ability to document complete, accurate, and concise information
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple call types and shifting priorities
- Comfortable navigating phone systems, call software, CRM platforms, and basic troubleshooting
- Willingness to learn from QA/coaching feedback and assist co-workers when needed
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to think on your feet, ask the right questions, and escalate issues when necessary
- College coursework preferred
