About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive business value attainment across the Alation customer base
  • Partner with Account Executives and Deployment Strategists to maintain momentum through the sales cycle
  • Track technical questions, blockers, requirements, feature questions, enablement needs, environment issues, and security and architecture follow-ups across active opportunities
  • Drive open issues to clear answers before they stall deals
  • Keep customers and account teams informed of status, next steps, and task ownership
  • Support account teams with RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
  • Translate customer requirements into evidence-backed feedback for Product and Engineering
  • Walk users through features and run focused solution demos
  • Answer customer capability questions with working examples
  • Contribute knowledge to the knowledge base and Alation Community
  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Customer Solutions, Technical Support, Product, and Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • History of owning a messy, multi-party problem and staying on it until resolved
  • Clear writing and sharp presentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical details to technical audiences and business terms to business audiences
  • Comfort explaining technical topics to business audiences
  • Strong organization when managing many concurrent items
  • Exposure to AI, databases, analytics, data integration, or cloud platforms through coursework, certifications, internships, or self-teaching
  • 1–3 years in a technical, customer-facing role such as support, consulting, analytics, IT, or solutions
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, lakehouses, BI, SQL, REST APIs, or AI
  • Exposure to data governance, data, and/or AI
  • Curiosity and creativity in understanding and solving customer problems
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the sales territory
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as indicated by the company’s E-Verify and Right to Work participation
