About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, organize, and implement recruitment programs to meet targeted enrollment goals for study protocols
  • Enroll appropriate subjects in clinical research protocols
  • Phone screen patients or caregivers in a caring and empathetic manner
  • Correctly document patient information in the computer database
  • Schedule and reschedule patient screening and prescreening appointments
  • Manage incoming calls from patients interested in research studies
  • Evaluate potential subject eligibility through screening interviews, medical record reviews, or discussions with site clinic staff
  • Maintain knowledge of clinical research studies and inclusion/exclusion criteria
  • Record patient contact status and update database information
  • Review, call, and update sponsor patient portals as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a medical environment, customer service, call center, or similar field
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as email, electronic health records, and basic applications
  • Typing proficiency of 40+ wpm
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic math proficiency
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changes in workloads and priorities
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive patient health information confidentially and professionally, in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
  • MA, CNA, LPN/LVN, EMT, or another medical license highly preferred
  • Experience with calendar management/scheduling and clinical trial management systems strongly preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency highly preferred
