About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process the full payroll cycle for the group’s various companies
  • Process payroll adjustments, deductions, benefits, and other required items
  • Prepare and follow up on Records of Employment (ROEs)
  • Handle CCQ-related follow-ups, including workforce movements, rates, competency cards, and various exceptions
  • Verify the accuracy and currency of the information required for payroll processing
  • Complete required declarations and follow-ups with various government agencies
  • Prepare year-end payroll documents, including T4s and Relevé 1s
  • Follow up on group insurance matters
  • Answer employees’ payroll-related questions
  • Complete the necessary follow-ups with various agencies and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving reliable, efficient, and rigorous payroll processes
  • Work under the supervision of the Financial Controller and in close collaboration with Human Resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant training in accounting, administration, or a related field; a vocational diploma or college diploma is preferred
  • Hands-on experience processing payroll
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of CCQ payroll rules and requirements
  • Good knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of Nethris is considered an asset
  • Excellent command of French
  • Rigor, reliability, and strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and autonomy to manage multiple files and firm deadlines
  • Discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism
  • Ability to answer employees’ questions clearly and diplomatically and collaborate with various teams
