About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and maintain the safety program, including the accident prevention plan, activity hazard analyses, and lockout/tagout, ladder and aerial lift, respirator and mold programs
  • Write and control standard operating procedures for dispatch, emergency response, occupied-room access, parts custody, and room turnover
  • Train technicians on the mobile maintenance system using realistic tasks and run observed demonstrations
  • Track training records, certifications, and expirations
  • Maintain the trade-competency matrix with the Maintenance Superintendent
  • Lead change and adoption activities as new buildings and workflows go live
  • Plan knowledge transfer to Government staff
  • Maintain OSHA injury and illness recordkeeping, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs
  • Post annual OSHA summaries as required
  • Develop and review job hazard analyses for maintenance tasks
  • Lead regular toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency escalations as duty lead
  • Drive between the hub and sites
  • Perform weekly site walkdowns in barracks and housing facilities on the installation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of safety program management in facilities or construction
  • 2+ years developing and delivering technical training
  • Experience delivering OSHA 10/30 or equivalent instruction
  • Experience with incident investigation and corrective-action tracking
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Education or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain installation access
  • Must be able to work in office and field environments
  • Must be able to conduct weekly site walkdowns in barracks and housing facilities
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lb.
  • OSHA 500/501 authorized trainer, CHST or ASP preferred
  • Experience with EM 385-1-1 accident prevention plans preferred
  • Train-the-trainer program experience preferred
  • Change management for technology adoption preferred
  • Experience with OSHA 300 recordkeeping preferred
  • Experience with behavior-based safety programs preferred
