Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform requirements analysis and engage internal and external stakeholders to understand required technical functionality
  • Complete architecture and design documentation for new software features
  • Deliver high-quality, tested C++ software features for embedded real-time systems
  • Implement automated unit and integration tests
  • Test and debug functionality in simulation and on target hardware
  • Lead investigation and timely resolution of software issues
  • Apply industry-standard design patterns and practices for quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility
  • Contribute proactively to the Agile software development lifecycle
  • Take technical ownership of software features and support roadmap planning and execution
  • Present reports on results and progress to stakeholders
  • Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highly skilled in C++ development on embedded systems
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of reliable, real-time embedded functionality
  • Full lifecycle development experience – design, develop, test, maintain
  • Good experience of Linux and FreeRTOS operating systems
  • Excellent understanding of physical interfaces such as Serial, Ethernet, SPI, CAN, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills in hardware debugging and performance characterisation
  • Excellent understanding of Source Code Management (git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Generation of appropriate documentation (Jira, Confluence)
  • Perform peer reviews and test of other developers’ work
  • Effective collaboration in high-pace agile team
  • Excellent self-organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem-solver and collaborative team member
  • Ability to work at ALL.SPACE’s Reading sites and on-site some of the time
