About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee planning, implementation and tracking of professional development, training and workforce development for all YSP Unit staff
  • Lead professional development collaborations and career advancement pathways with the leadership team
  • Support supervisors in identifying staff development and advancement opportunities
  • Develop and maintain internal calendars, tracking tools, evaluation systems, training materials and manuals
  • Arrange and deliver training, coaching and external training for YSP staff and DHS staff, including CYF new hires
  • Prepare reports on professional development, coaching, training, accomplishments and challenges
  • Coordinate projects, peer mentoring/coaching, activities and case supervision of Youth Support Coordinators
  • Help develop strategic plans and establish 1-, 3- and 5-year unit goals
  • Seek resources, maintain relevant coaching credentials and ensure staff meet coaching requirements
  • Establish benchmarks, timelines and resources for professional development and career advancement goals
  • Serve on the YSP Unit leadership team and gather and share relevant statistics and data
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring procedures and supervision of Senior YSPs
  • Advise staff during Integrated Coaching Planning meetings on financial wellness, education, parenting, relationships, housing and life skills
  • Assist staff with educational goals and content creation for workshops, trainings and meetings
  • Facilitate TRIAGE and TUESDAY TALKS
  • Attend youth visits with staff
  • Organize volunteer activities and team-building sessions
  • Retool YSP materials for easier use
  • Supervise Senior YSPs, assign priorities and review work for quality and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in a related field plus two years of professional experience in a human services or related field, including one year of supervisory experience; OR bachelor’s degree in a related field plus four years of experience, including three years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated success conducting coaching, training and professional development services
  • Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience with professional development and career advancement
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and alternative learning methods
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and training experience
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with and fostering teams, including youth and young adults
  • Knowledge of community resources and human resources, including performance improvement plans and corrective action policies
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, take initiative, delegate effectively and work flexibly
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to the YSP Unit’s mission
  • Local and long-distance travel required
