About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete the immersive SDP – Specification Track Program curriculum
  • Attend required internal training, external product training, and program events
  • Build knowledge of Allegion customers, door and door hardware products, codes, specifications, and sales processes
  • Attend networking and professional development events
  • Learn to use Allegion tools and resources, including Overtur and Dynamics CRM, to gather and maintain project information
  • Graduate from the 9-month training program with in-depth role knowledge and best practices
  • Create technical hardware sets and specifications for architects, including code compliance for new construction and aftermarket requests
  • Provide product application solutions to architects
  • Participate in pre- and post-installation meetings and assist with revisions, access control coordination, and requests for information
  • Demonstrate understanding of electro-mechanical products and solutions, including access control and software
  • Communicate door hardware coordination requirements and conflicts
  • Collaborate with the team to provide positive customer experiences and deliver project commitments
  • Maintain industry and competitor product knowledge by reviewing market data and adapting to marketplace changes
  • Complete six months of classroom training in Denver, Colorado, followed by transfer to the permanent regional sales office location
  • Progress to full-time Specification Writer employment after successful completion of the 12-month program

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A College diploma in Advanced Architectural Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering Technology Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management) is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Influencing skills
  • Bilingual (French/English) proficiency (written, spoken) is an asset
  • Strong mechanical and electronics aptitude
  • Ability to travel 10-25% (Domestic/International (USA))
  • Ability to learn industry specific software
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Detail oriented with a high level of organization and time management skills
  • Eligibility to travel to the United States to complete a required training program
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to Denver, Colorado for the first six months of the training program
