About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with Partners, senior legal operatives and Practice Executives in the Sydney office
  • Assist Practice Executives with matter financial administration, including billing, e-billing, tracking non-dispatched bills, missing timesheets, cost estimates, reporting, closure and archiving
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high-quality work and service standards
  • Provide support during Practice Executives' annual and sick leave
  • Organise firm events, including corporate tables, business and industry events, client events and staff events
  • Manage administrative client requirements throughout the matter lifecycle
  • Provide guidance on drafting, document production and practice management processes and procedures
  • Support continuous improvement and digital innovation, including emerging technologies such as AI

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a law firm; experience in finance, accounting or other professional services firms also considered
  • Commitment to promoting operational excellence among Practice Support staff and leading by example
  • Strong written communication skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to draft correspondence, presentations, pitch documents and slide packs quickly and accurately
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of continuous change and work with challenging clients or stakeholders
  • High degree of initiative, proactivity and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects and deliver innovative solutions
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to manage upwards with stakeholders
  • Desire to learn, grow, network and mentor others
