Manager, Financial Planning

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a high-performing financial planning team and serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, regulatory finance, and financial modeling activities
- Partner with senior executives and business leaders to shape strategic decisions
- Oversee financial analysis, forecasting, annual operating plans, strategic financial plans, project plans, project analysis, rate case filings, and financial operational planning
- Run the annual financial operating plan process, including target development, analysis, and management approval
- Analyze, evaluate, and develop forecasting models
- Identify and implement improvements in risk management and operational efficiency
- Apply knowledge of company strategy, initiatives, and risk profile to make business recommendations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop financially and strategically aligned solutions
- Ensure processes identify, assess, respond to, and communicate risks and opportunities
- Help implement legal and accounting requirements, including rate orders
- Assist in defending company positions, including rate case revenue requirements and cost allocations
- Hire, develop, coach, reward, and manage direct reports
- Foster an inclusive and safe workplace and address performance and conflict issues
- Communicate financial results and provide strategic financial recommendations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, economics, finance, or related area preferred
- Master's or Advanced Degree preferred
- CPA, CMA, or other financial certification preferred
- 5 years of related experience
- 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent leadership experience
- Public accounting experience or utility, manufacturing, or related industry experience preferred
- Leadership skills
- Budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial controls
- Microsoft applications, Peoplesoft, and forecasting software
- Financial and regulatory modeling, planning, and analysis
- Effective communication with operations personnel
- Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively
- Must successfully complete a background check
- Must complete a drug screen where applicable
