About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Improve the reliability, availability, and performance of generation assets
Apply reliability engineering principles, maintenance strategy optimization, and CMMS expertise
Serve as a technical resource for asset management programs across the generation fleet
Support preventive and predictive maintenance, asset health monitoring, work management, equipment reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives
Optimize maintenance programs and enhance Maximo data quality and workflows
Develop asset health strategies and perform reliability analyses
Implement sustainable maintenance and reliability practices
Independently perform complex assignments and determine appropriate solutions
Identify problems, recommend technically sound and cost-effective solutions, and design safety into equipment operation and maintenance
Present alternatives and influence customer decision making
Provide guidance to less experienced personnel and mentor new employees or interns
Explain technical problems and prepare technical studies and project documentation
Manage project budgets, accruals, requisitions, receipts, and related project tasks
Provide input on property unit catalog citations and modifications
Support generation facility outages
Perform other duties supporting Alliant Energy’s values and purpose

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree within an engineering program accredited through the Engineering Accreditation Commission
7 years of related experience
Project management leadership experience preferred
Ability to deal with subcontractors and cross-functional teams
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to use computer software programs, including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management software
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Successful completion of a background check
Successful completion of a drug screen where applicable
