About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead critical natural gas outage execution at the Emery and Marshalltown Generation Facilities
- Own end-to-end planning of complex, high-impact maintenance events
- Align stakeholders, sequence work, and mitigate risks before planned and unplanned outages
- Initiate, plan, develop, administer, implement, control, and close large-sized projects across multiple business units
- Apply Alliant Energy project management methodologies and PMI-based processes
- Establish and manage project costs, resources, performance measurements, timelines, and technical objectives
- Determine project resource and staffing skillsets and assess risk-reduction strategies
- Manage project contracts with sourcing personnel
- Ensure work meets specifications and contractual schedules
- Develop and execute communication and stakeholder management plans
- Report project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders
- Ensure training needs are met for project team members and project users
- Complete project closeout, including operational training, work-order closure, financial charges, documentation, reassignment of team members, and transition of deliverables
- Support and mentor others in organizational change management methodology and business consulting
- Perform cost/benefit analysis and assess project feasibility as needed
- Perform other duties supporting Alliant Energy's values and purpose
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years of experience in project management managing medium to large sized, complex projects
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
- Must achieve a Project Management Professional certification within 12 months of employment
- Ability to analyze and solve problems of a moderate nature and implement effective solutions
- Ability to organize large project plans and effectively document accordingly
- Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with a minimum of direction
- Effective leadership and team skills
- Ability to develop and apply performance measures
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to use computer software programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen where applicable
