About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides administrative support for close-out and asset setup activities
- Completes gas and electric small and large work requests within the work management system
- Completes billing for gas and electric construction with the work management and other systems
- Uses and maintains basic computer applications to create documents, forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphics, and presentations
- Researches, compiles, and analyzes basic information for reports or presentation materials
- Prepares charts, graphs, and tables
- Enters gas records, such as pipe inspection forms, sewer forms, and odorant reads, into the record system
- Generates reports and statistical information, including work pending, work ready, work available by priority, and work ready to be closed
- Submits completed and closed gas and electric work requests to GIS for mapping
- Provides administrative functional support for gas and electric system construction
- Provides data and information to field personnel and works with various computer systems and databases
- Performs other duties supporting Alliant Energy’s values and purpose
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate Degree Preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to travel
- Travel can include occasional overnight stays
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management)
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) software preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Basic proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of compliance or regulatory recordkeeping preferred
- Basic knowledge of utility operations, safety, and energy industry terminology preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively meet deadlines with quality work completion
- Background check required
- Drug screen where applicable
