About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems across customer sites
- Inspect LEV systems controlling dust, fumes, vapours and mists
- Assess fans, ductwork, hoods and filtration systems
- Produce clear professional reports and recommendations
- Help customers maintain safe workplaces and meet legal obligations under COSHH regulations
- Work independently across an allocated area
- Manage inspection schedules, workload and priorities
- Build trusted relationships with customers
- Visit schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities and production environments
- Collaborate with experienced Engineer Surveyors and Team Leaders
- Participate in technical development, induction and training programmes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Level 3 qualification (or above) in a mechanical engineering-related discipline
- Practical engineering experience gained within maintenance, servicing, repair, manufacturing, installation, testing or inspection environments
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and equipment, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a practical setting
- Full UK driving licence
- Effective organisational and time-management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and digital reporting systems
- Ability to work safely and effectively in industrial and commercial environments, including locations where access to elevated equipment may be required
- Previous Engineer Surveyor experience desirable
- LEV, extraction, air handling or industrial ventilation experience desirable
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations desirable
- Manufacturing, production, process engineering or industrial experience desirable
- Technical reports and compliance documentation experience desirable
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or professional registration in progress desirable
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage desirable
