About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Underwrite and service new and renewal environmental accounts
- Negotiate price, terms and conditions with broker partners
- Proactively manage capacity, risk appetite and profitability
- Drive marketing initiatives and build collaborative broker relationships
- Provide customer service, technical knowledge and support
- Develop a pipeline of new business through active marketing, cross-sell initiatives, industry events and broker pipeline reports
- Execute complicated global insurance programs with colleagues across the globe
- Develop creative client solutions with Risk Consultants, Product Development and Claims
- Drive and participate in key business projects affecting EIL results
- Mentor junior underwriters and help develop their underwriting skills and broker relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience in environmental underwriting
- Experience with environmental consulting is a plus
- Ability to build and foster relationships internally and externally with broker partners
- Outstanding technical skills and ability to analyze complex data and information from multiple sources
- Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
- Strong thought leadership skills with the ability to persuade and motivate others to act
- Strong solution orientation with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision making
- Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Biology
