About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Insurance and Regulatory Strategies team in developing quantitative solutions, analytics and portfolio optimization tools
  • Work in the AllianzGI Paris office as an integrated member of the Insurance & Regulatory Strategies team
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Credit Research, Trading, Technology and Data teams across AllianzGI
  • Develop, enhance and maintain the IRS Optimizer, AllianzGI’s proprietary portfolio construction and optimization framework
  • Support the design and implementation of quantitative models, analytics and tools for strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, capital management, performance analysis and risk monitoring
  • Support data management, data governance and analytical infrastructure best practices
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers on ad-hoc quantitative projects, portfolio analyses and client initiatives involving sustainability, ESG integration, regulatory constraints and insurance-specific investment objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline
  • Strong interest in financial markets; knowledge of Fixed Income markets, insurance investing, and portfolio construction/optimization techniques considered an advantage
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, including quantitative model development, data analytics, automation and development of user-facing applications
  • Strong knowledge of databases, data architecture and SQL; experience with Bloomberg and other financial market data platforms is a plus
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and modern data science techniques
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across investment, risk and technology teams in English and in French
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results
  • Intellectual curiosity, innovative mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes
  • Collaborative team player with a high degree of integrity and reliability
  • CFA, FRM, CAIA or progress towards such qualifications is a plus
  • Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices
