About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate automobile accidents involving single or multiple vehicles resulting in property damage and/or bodily injury with attorney or litigation involvement
- Assess coverage, liability, and damages
- Provide customer service throughout the claims process
- Communicate with customers and attorneys through voice calls, email, and text messages
- Negotiate fair injury settlements with all involved parties
- Perform detailed damage reviews and interpret policies to determine coverage
- Evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
- Handle challenging and complex negotiations using legal and business standard methodologies
- Use estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms, and other claims tools
- Document claims work accurately and timely in the claims system
- Protect the company financially by executing policies according to policy agreements
- Keep customers updated on claim progress and offer preferred communication channels
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of Casualty Represented or Litigation UM/UIM claim handling experience required
- Candidates with experience in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina a plus
- Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone
- Ability to work independently and remotely while managing time efficiently
- Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage, and liability determination
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of innovative tools and platforms for claims evaluation
- Must submit to a background investigation
- May be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire if applicable; license acquisition is not stated as required before hiring
- Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
