About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate automobile accidents involving single or multiple vehicles with property damage and/or bodily injury involving attorneys or litigation
- Assess coverage, liability, and damages
- Provide customer and attorney communication through voice calls, email, text messages, and sometimes video chat
- Negotiate fair injury settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
- Handle severe, complex, and litigated bodily injury claims
- Review damage details and interpret policies to determine coverage
- Maintain customer updates and provide preferred communication methods
- Apply legal and business-standard claims-handling methodologies
- Use estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms, NextGen, Mitchell Decision Point, Casualty Center, and claims systems
- Complete timely and accurate claims documentation
- Protect the company financially by executing policies according to policy agreements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience handling represented third-party Bodily Injury claims
- Experience managing severe, complex, and litigated Bodily Injury claims
- Experience handling claims in Texas, Oregon, Iowa and/or Nebraska
- Proficient communication skills, especially over the phone
- Ability to work independently and remotely while managing time efficiently
- Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage, and liability determination
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of innovative tools and platforms for claims evaluation
- Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB down/5 MB up
- Dedicated private home office free from distractions
- Adjuster and/or appraiser license may be required within 60 days of hire, if applicable
- Background investigation required
- Must work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm CST
- Home office must be in the United States; position unavailable to residents of California, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico
- Applicants with active insurance licenses must terminate existing appointments and cannot hold outside appointments during employment
- Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
