About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Use and develop data infrastructure projects and proof-of-concept business solutions for analytics and Data Science users
Work directly with data scientists and analytic engineers on needs and tactical solutions
Execute data engineering work tracks from inception and prototyping through fully developed solutions
Build test scripts, execute testing, and work with data scientists and business teams to ensure end-user acceptance
Execute rapid development of new data and analytic work tracks through fast iteration and quick sprints
Develop and deliver data infrastructure supporting predictive modeling and analytics with minimal supervision
Mentor team members in a business technical environment and promote innovation and process improvement
Participate in developing enterprise data assets, information platforms, and data spaces
Develop concepts, proof-of-concept designs, and prototypes for business or research data solutions
Work with Data Engineers and business partners on cross-functional teams
Develop business subject-matter expertise and advanced analytics expertise
Support analytic data-source requirements development and document requirements with minimal supervision
No supervisory duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience and qualifications commensurate with the compensation range
Fluency in parallel processing/programming, software/programming languages, and technologies including SQL, Python, and Spark
Background investigation required
Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
Appropriate desk and seating required for home workspace
Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
