About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Defend the insured and the Company in Personal Injury Protection (PIP), No-Fault, and SIU matters
Manage PIP/No-Fault litigation from inception through resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
Conduct SIU Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), analyze testimony and evidence, and prepare reports and recommendations
Handle SIU and PIP litigation, arbitration, EUOs, investigations, and fraud-related claims analysis
Conduct AAA No-Fault arbitrations and represent the Company in virtual and in-person proceedings
Review file assignments, evaluate legal and factual issues, develop case strategies, and draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
Partner with claims professionals and business partners to provide legal guidance, case assessments, and strategic recommendations
Maintain communication regarding case status, litigation strategy, and claim developments
Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and case law affecting PIP, No-Fault, and SIU matters

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctorate
Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
Experience handling litigation matters, including legal research, writing, motion practice, and case management
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and competing deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to independently analyze legal issues, develop case strategies, and make sound recommendations
Experience with or interest in PIP, No-Fault, SIU, insurance defense, or related litigation matters
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment
Must reside within a commutable distance of New York metropolitan area venues as business needs require
In-person training/mentoring required during the first 6 months of employment
Successful completion of a background investigation
Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions
Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
