About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate and confirm facts of loss for homeowners claims
  • Determine coverage, assess damages, and adjust and negotiate claims within authority limits
  • Manage complex homeowner claims from initial inspection through resolution
  • Prepare detailed damage estimates to support fair and accurate claim outcomes
  • Work directly with customers, contractors, and internal partners to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and company guidelines
  • Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in complex files
  • Interpret company policy types and assist leadership with formal and ad hoc training
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • No supervisory duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • Experience investigating and managing complex homeowner claims
  • Mastery of estimating fundamentals for complex first-party homeowner losses
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Ability to negotiate settlements and make settlement payments
  • Mastery of all policy types written by the company
  • Applicable active insurance licenses may include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License
  • Must terminate existing insurance appointments before onboarding and must not hold outside appointments during employment
  • Applicants with a resident producer license must surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided
  • Dedicated, private home workspace required when working from home
  • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
  • Xactimate, negotiation, property claims, property claims management, property damage claims, property insurance claims, and property repairs
