About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish
  • Confirm facts of loss, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense (ALE) claims, contents, and personal property losses
  • Work closely with customers, contractors, and other partners to handle claims accurately and efficiently
  • Deliver excellent customer service through clear, timely communication
  • Create estimates of damages on complex first-party homeowner losses
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in complex files
  • Apply policy interpretations across company-written policy types
  • Assist leadership with formal and ad hoc training
  • Recommend process improvements
  • No supervisory duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced Field Property Adjuster located in Houston, TX or surrounding areas
  • Proficiency in Xactimate
  • Strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents and full claim ownership
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proactive approach
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings is strongly preferred
  • Active adjuster license or a license that qualifies for reciprocity in the applicable states is strongly preferred
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States
  • Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
  • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
