About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide exceptional service to policyholders
Travel to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections
Investigate coverage and property damage
Prepare estimates and settle claims promptly and efficiently
Handle virtual claims countrywide using platforms including Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration
Focus on fire and water losses
Communicate with customers by phone, email, and video chat
Offer customers communication preferences and provide claim progress updates
Evaluate and negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms to resolve claims
Document claim work accurately and timely in the claims system
Protect the company financially by executing policies according to policy agreements
Attend approximately two weeks of training in Dallas, Texas

Requirements

What you’ll need

4 years’ previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired
Experience handling claims with multiple trades and over $100,000 in losses
Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for estimating
Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide
Detail-oriented and organized
Residency within the posted location is mandatory
Must be able to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
Individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments before onboarding and must not hold outside appointments during employment
Applicants with a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed
May be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire
Required to pass a background investigation
Must maintain a dedicated, private home workspace
Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
This position is not available for California, Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico residents
