Key responsibilities & impact

Lead critical engineering groups with significant technical, strategic, or architectural responsibilities
Build relationships throughout the organization to ensure alignment and support for organizational goals
Architect and design digital products using modern tools, technologies, frameworks, and systems
Apply scientific and technological knowledge to software design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Own and manage applications in production
Be accountable for digital product success through achievement of KPIs
Advise others on complex engineering matters
Translate strategy into challenging and meaningful goals
Manage teams responsible for strategic architecture components and strategically valuable functions
Act as an authority on software best practices and propagate them across the organization
Leverage and influence key stakeholders
Supervise up to 5 people

Requirements

What you’ll need

10 or more years of experience with Java and COBOL
Experience developing REST APIs using Java Spring Boot
Knowledge of API documentation tooling including Swagger, REST Docs, and OpenAPI specification
Experience with API versioning, service discovery/registration, testing, and management
Hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering large-scale distributed systems and/or cloud applications
Experience with microservices architectures
Experience with web and API security, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML
Backend development design and implementation experience
Experience with databases including MongoDB and caching
Experience with Kafka messaging
Knowledge of distributed version control systems such as Git
Experience with artifact management, build and packaging systems such as Maven, Gradle, npm, and Artifactory
Experience with Jenkins or similar continuous integration tools
Experience working in an Agile environment or paired programming/engineering model
Experience with Python is a plus
Ability to work from home with a dedicated, private workspace
Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
Successful completion of a background investigation
