About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enter and manage pleadings, motions, trial documents, and legal correspondence in the case management system
- Support the full case lifecycle, including case assignment, representation letters, court appearances, financial tracking, complaint responses, deposition and hearing notices, correspondence with opposing counsel, and file closure
- Track trial, arbitration, and mediation dates and ensure timely follow-ups and notifications
- Communicate with clients, courts, claim representatives, and opposing counsel by phone, email, and written correspondence
- Handle mail, scanning, filing, and daily administrative duties both in-office and remotely
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance using the Team Connect Litigation Management System
- Investigate and resolve administrative challenges and remain open to feedback and learning opportunities
- Provide administrative support to Client Legal Services Attorneys in a collaborative legal defense environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Legal administrative support experience in a civil law setting is beneficial but not required
- Exposure to a legal office environment is helpful
- Transferable skills and a strong interest in legal administrative work encouraged
- Exceptionally organized and task-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable handling sensitive information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and open to learning new legal systems
- Background investigation required
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions with appropriate desk and seating when working from home
- Generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
