About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a 12-month Product Engineer Placement within an Allstate Technology Solutions team
- Develop, analyse, and enhance code across the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to high-quality, scalable applications and systems
- Work across the technology stack using modern technologies and engineering practices
- Collaborate with senior developers and project managers to deliver solutions
- Support testing activities and technical issue resolution
- Analyse designs, requirements, and technical specifications
- Track and measure key performance indicators to evaluate success and iterate for improvement
- Share knowledge and adhere to development standards
- Participate in Agile technology teams and structured in-person training and development activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Legal right to work in the UK
- Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this program
- Expected to complete the second year of a relevant engineering-focused degree course by the end of June 2027, or the third year for relevant engineering-focused IT degrees
- Currently achieving a 2.1 average to date, or a Commendation when completing a master’s degree
- Provide a full list of module marks from the first year and current year to date at application stage
- Relevant engineering-focused degree course
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript; cloud platforms; APIs; databases; DevOps tools; and front-end and back-end development frameworks
