About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle escalated claims files involving complex contents or additional living expense damages
- Conduct thorough coverage investigations and ensure policies are applied correctly
- Use advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors, identify damages, and write contents damage estimates virtually
- Communicate empathetically with customers throughout the claim process
- Negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
- Coordinate with structure adjusters for holistic claim handling
- Use data and analytics to influence decision-making
- Investigate property claims through detailed damage reviews and policy interpretation
- Document claim work accurately and timely in the claims system
- Work virtually from home while occasionally performing onsite field inspections
- Complete virtual training and ongoing development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Residency within the posted locations is mandatory: USA - VA (Remote)
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to work Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with rotational weekend duty and extended hours when necessary
- Willingness to perform occasional onsite inspections in the field
- Reside in the Eastern Time Zone (preferred)
- Prior experience using estimating software such as Xactimate for complex contents estimating (preferred)
- Ability to investigate property claims, interpret policies, determine coverage, and negotiate settlements
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication
- Organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and independent work capability
- Successful background investigation
- Adjuster and/or appraiser license may be required within 60 days of hire, if applicable
- Existing active insurance license holders must terminate all existing appointments and hold no outside appointments during employment
- Allstate generally does not sponsor employment-based visas
