About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Travel to customers' homes to conduct on-site property inspections
Investigate coverage and review property damage
Prepare estimates and settle claims promptly and efficiently
Handle virtual claims countrywide using Xactimate, ClaimsX Video Collaboration, and other platforms
Focus on water-loss claims
Provide empathetic, clear, and exceptional service to policyholders
Communicate with customers by phone, email, and video chat
Negotiate claim settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
Apply legal and business-standard settlement methodologies
Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms to resolve claims
Document claim work accurately and promptly in the claims system
Attend approximately two weeks of training in Dallas, Texas

Requirements

What you’ll need

Residency within the posted location is mandatory
2 years' previous experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired
Proficiency in Xactimate and other relevant estimating software
Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately and expedite claims settlements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide
Detail-oriented and organized
Ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one to two-story roof
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
May be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire
Active insurance license holders must terminate existing appointments and cannot hold outside appointments during employment
Must have a dedicated, private home workspace and reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
Must submit to a background investigation
Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas
Position unavailable to residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico
