About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Travel to customers' homes to perform on-site property inspections
  • Investigate coverage and assess property damage
  • Prepare estimates and settle claims promptly
  • Handle virtual claims using Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration
  • Focus on water losses, minor fire, wind/hail, and miscellaneous property claims
  • Deliver compassionate, clear, and supportive claims service
  • Keep customers informed by phone, email, or video
  • Negotiate fair settlements with customers, vendors, and other carriers
  • Use critical thinking and available tools to solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain accurate and timely claims-system records
  • Attend approximately two weeks of training in Wheeling, Illinois or Dallas, Texas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience in property adjusting, water mitigation, or independent adjusting, along with estimating (preferred)
  • Xactimate proficiency highly desired
  • Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Willingness and ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one- to two-story roof
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
  • Residency within the Seattle Metro area is mandatory
  • Approximately 2 weeks of training in Wheeling, IL or Dallas, TX required
  • Must submit to a background investigation
  • Must obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire if required by the office/area
  • Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions
  • Appropriate desk and seating when working from home
  • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
  • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
