About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the architecture, development, integration, and support of Legal Technology products and platforms
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, integrations, and event-driven services
Contribute hands-on through coding, code reviews, architectural design, troubleshooting, and production support
Integrate and orchestrate vendor-provided legal applications with enterprise systems
Drive technical decisions involving cloud platforms, application modernization, data management, integration patterns, and AI services
Own product reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence, including incident response and root cause analysis
Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, Legal, Compliance, Security, and Technology teams
Design and implement AI-powered solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, and intelligent automation
Lead experimentation, innovation, and adoption of emerging AI technologies and legal technology solutions
Manage vendor relationships, product upgrades, integration initiatives, and platform lifecycle activities
Define operational KPIs, service-level objectives, and engineering metrics
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of engineers
Influence stakeholders and engineering teams to adopt modern engineering and AI best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

7 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures
Proficiency in Python for automation and platform engineering
Experience designing and supporting highly available production systems with accountability for reliability, security, and performance
Strong experience with enterprise integrations, API management, workflow orchestration, SaaS platforms, and messaging technologies such as Kafka
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, Kubernetes, and cloud-native data services
Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
Experience building or integrating AI-powered solutions using Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG, vector databases, or related technologies
Familiarity with AI frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar orchestration platforms
Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating directly with business stakeholders
Experience in Legal Technology, Compliance, Risk Management, RegTech, or similar domains
Experience with legal research, document intelligence, contract lifecycle management, eDiscovery, or knowledge management solutions
Experience managing relationships with technology vendors and SaaS providers
Experience leading cloud modernization, integration, or AI transformation initiatives
