About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Travel to customers' homes for on-site property inspections

  • Focus on water-loss claims
  • Provide compassionate, clear, and customer-focused claims service
  • Independently investigate property claims and interpret policies to determine coverage
  • Communicate with customers by phone, email, and video chat
  • Adapt communication to customer preferences and provide claim-progress updates
  • Evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants
  • Handle challenging and complex negotiations according to legal and business standards
  • Use estimate tools, job aids, and settlement platforms
  • Document claim activity accurately and promptly in the claims system
  • Work Monday through Friday during training, then 10 days on/4 days off for 8–12 hours per day
  • Travel out of town up to 90% of the time
  • Attend a required two-week training program in Dallas, Texas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience writing water damage estimates preferred
  • Previous experience as a property adjuster preferred
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Xactimate preferred
  • Strong focus on exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently, starting from home, and travel to different locations
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and positive attitude toward challenges
  • Excellent organization and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access up to a 6/12 pitch on a one- to two-story roof
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
  • Must reside within 50 miles of an airport
  • Must terminate existing insurance appointments and not hold outside appointments during employment if currently holding an active insurance license
  • Resident producer license holders seeking an adjuster role must surrender that license when instructed
  • May be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire
  • Required to submit to a background investigation
  • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
  • Dedicated, private home workspace with appropriate desk and seating
  • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas
