About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect and develop software solutions across the full stack
Work with cross-functional teams and backend systems and infrastructure powering financial markets
Contribute to API design and product features
Own delivery of high-visibility features and projects from design to deployment
Mentor peers and influence the company's technical strategy
Build frontend trading dashboards and backend systems for Internal Tools features including elite, high-yield cash, and paper accounts
Deliver end-to-end solutions across Alpaca's frontend and backend systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience using a modern systems programming language like Golang, C++, or Rust
3+ years of experience in frontend development with TypeScript/React
Proficient with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
Proficient in HTML and CSS frameworks such as TailwindCSS
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Proven track record of building user-facing features end-to-end
Experience with REST APIs and WebSockets best practices
Attention to detail and an appreciation for design aesthetics
Algo trading experience (either professional or personal) (nice-to-have)
Experience with major cloud platforms, primarily GCP (nice-to-have)
Experience or understanding of financial markets (nice-to-have)
Experience working at a startup (nice-to-have)
Experience working remotely (nice-to-have)
